What makes a good horror book trailer
- Start quiet. The scare lands harder after a calm line.
- Keep the monster off screen: say what it does, not what it is.
- End on a line readers can’t shake.
Keep it under 30 seconds, vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and end on where to find the book.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up and no account. Every trailer ends on a short Now Showing card.
Do you upload my cover?
No. Your cover is drawn into the video on your device. It isn’t sent anywhere and isn’t part of the share link.
Can I post it on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube?
Yes, anywhere you like, including ads for your book. The soundtrack is original and made on your device for your trailer, so there’s no music to license. Mute it with 🔊 if you’d rather add a sound in the app.
Can I change the words?
Every line, under “Edit the script”. The review near the end is a joke from an object (a candle, a bookmark); keep it obviously a joke, and never make it look like a real review.
Which browsers work?
MP4s with sound work best in Chrome on a Mac or PC, Edge and Safari. Other browsers make the video without sound and say so.
A cookieless counter tallies page visits and downloads. It never sees your book, your cover or your video.
Not a book? Now Showing also turns apps and startups into movie trailers.
